The Cley Flood Warden Scheme
The Scheme is run by a team of local volunteers supported by NNDC.
Flood Wardens get advanced flood risk predictions from the Environment Agency (EA) and North Norfolk District Council and will inform you of any serious flood event that could affect your property and safety.
Flood Wardens can supply more targeted information including evacuation advice, whereas the EA Floodline can only provide the three levels of flood risk for a general area.
EA Floodline gives: FLOOD ALERT, FLOOD WARNING and SEVERE FLOOD WARNING
Severe Flood Warning is when direct action may be needed by residents, including evacuation.
Are you in a Flood Risk Area? If you are unsure, the Cley Flood Wardens can advise each property on their level of flood risk.
In the event of a Severe Flood Warding, the Flood Wardens will advise you ONLY if your property in Cley is directly at risk of flooding, and when evacuation may be required.
