Back in the Thirteenth Century, Cley was one of the busiest ports in
England, the now narrow River Glaven was back then a huge estuary
which led right up to Cley church. Huge ships would navigate the
estuary bringing fish, spices, oriental cloths and coal into Cley ready to
be distributed across England.
The Cley Heritage Walk is a 45 mins walk around Cley, taking in many of the historical buildings, old pubs, brick walls and other features which help tell Cley's historic story. The walk can be accessed below using the interactive map.
Heritage Walk
The Heritage Walk has received grant funding from the Arts and Culture Fund at NNDC.
